How does this amalgamation benefit the Ontario SPCA?

Answer

Like the Humane Society of Durham Region, the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is a registered charity, with a mission to help the animals. By working together, we can help more animals and bring/keep more people and pets together, a united goal for both organizations.

Does this relationship allow the Humane Society of Durham Region to take in more animals?

Answer

One of the benefits of formally joining the Ontario SPCA is that the Humane Society of Durham Region is part of a likeminded organization operating at a provincial level. This means joining the network of communities in animal transfers between Ontario SPCA animal centres and partnering organizations to help more animals find loving homes. These programs are designed to improve our capacity to care for the animals.
